Committee Descriptions

American Bar Association Committee (ad hoc)
Chair: Jared Vega
Committee led by the ABA Representative, designed to increase relations between our Student Bar Association and the American Bar Association. This includes increasing the SBA's role within the ABA's Law Student Division.

Barrister's Ball Committee
Chair: Jo McKeegan
Like most law schools, the biggest event of the year is the annual Barrister's Ball. This committee plans and coordinates the event.

Constitution/By-Laws Review Committee
Chair: John Ford
The constitution and by-laws have not been updated in years. This committee will review the documents and recommend updates and alterations.

Mental Health Awareness (ad hoc)
Chair: Liz Hersh
The Mental Health Awareness committee is not only tasked with hosting the annual Mental Heath Fair, but also in creating programming options to promote the health of students at UB Law.

Outreach Committee: UB Green
Chair: Rebecca Hoffman
This committee is charged with helping improve the school's carbon footprint, by promoting recycling and sustainable practices among students and staff.

Social Committee
Chair: Anthony Rossi
The SBA offers events throughout the year, starting with the first bar night and the Cruise Down the Niagara in September and ending with Decompression in May. In between, the Social Committee runs numerous other events, which will include many new events this year.

Students of Color Dinner Committee
Chair: Allison Chan
The annual Students of Color Dinner is an important event, not only for the law school, but the entire Buffalo community. Its attendance includes attorneys, judges, faculty, alumni, and last year, Buffalo Mayor Brown was even in attendance.

Technological Services Committee
Chair: Dan Kaufmann
The technological backbone of the SBA, this committee manages the website, Facebook page, and implements new services for the student body, as well as advocates on their behalf.
